Intensive Course Information
Our intensive motorcycle training course typically runs over a weekend, starting on a Friday and finishing on Sunday. Each day's training begins at 08:00 and finishes around 12:00.
The Module 1 test is scheduled for either the following Tuesday or Thursday, depending on availability from the DVSA.
If you successfully pass your Module 1 test, you’ll have a refresher lesson approximately 11 days later, on a Saturday afternoon between 13:00 and 16:00, before your Module 2 test. The Module 2 test will take place on a Monday morning, with the time subject to DVSA availability.
We will provide the motorcycle and insurance. However, please note:
Training for Category A1 (Light Motorcycle) tests, or preparation for A2 or A courses, can be arranged upon request.
CBT Training at Two Wheels
All learner motorcyclists must complete Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) before riding on the road. At Two Wheels, our structured CBT course ensures you gain the essential skills and confidence needed for safe riding.
The course begins with a talk on motorcycling basics, safety, and gear, followed by an introduction to the bike you'll use, including its controls and handling.
For more information or to book your course, get in touch with us today.
Having been introduced to the bike and shown how to operate its controls, you will begin with supervised manoeuvres in a safe, off-road environment. This initial stage allows you to gain hands-on experience and develop confidence in handling the motorcycle under the guidance of your instructor.
Once the instructor is satisfied with the standard you have achieved, they will deliver a comprehensive briefing on road safety and riding etiquette. Following this, you will transition to public roads, where you will undergo a minimum of two hours of on-road training, navigating a variety of traffic situations. The session will continue until you demonstrate safe and competent riding skills in diverse scenarios.
To ensure quality instruction and safety, training will be conducted at a maximum ratio of four pupils per instructor during off-road sessions, and a maximum ratio of two pupils per instructor for on-road training.
This structured approach is designed to gradually build your confidence and skillset, preparing you for independent riding with a strong foundation in safety and control.
For the Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), we will provide the motorcycle and insurance. However, helmets are not provided, though we can assist with providing jackets and gloves if needed.
Our New Rider CBT is priced at £265 and is conducted over two consecutive days. Sessions are available on the following schedules:
The course begins each day at 09:00 and finishes at approximately 16:00.
If you are unable to complete the CBT course within the two-day period, you will be required to attend additional training. These additional sessions will typically take place on a Wednesday, and the exact date will be agreed upon at the end of your second day of training.
Your CBT course entitlement includes up to 15 hours of training (please refer to the terms and conditions for more details). Any training required beyond the 15-hour entitlement will be charged at £30 per hour, with a minimum booking of three hours.
Please note that at present, there is no availability for CBT courses over the weekend.
Renew Your CBT
For customers who need to renew their Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), we offer a streamlined 1-day course. This is ideal for:
The cost for this 1-day course is £185.
This option allows riders with recent experience to refresh their skills and ensure they remain compliant with CBT requirements in a shorter time frame.
Important Note: The course we have created is specifically designed to give you the best chance of successfully completing your CBT. However, if you have no prior experience riding a motorcycle or navigating UK roads, it may take longer to complete.
To improve your chances of finishing the course within the allotted time and avoiding any additional fees, we strongly recommend preparing in advance by familiarizing yourself with the Highway Code and hazard perception tests.
